“Mum’s Night Off”, Hemingway’s Bar, Wimbledon Village 17th May 2012
Local business Mums on the Go held a successful “Mum’s Night Off” event at Hemingway’s Lounge Bar in Wimbledon Village last Thursday night. The event was the idea of Victoria Nicol the founder of mumsonthego.co.uk – a website for families which promotes local child-friendly businesses.

Victoria, a Wimbledon mum herself, said – “I wanted to put on an event where mums could let their hair down, enjoy the products of some great local businesses and make new friends.”
Richard Hannant the manager of Hemingway’s Lounge Bar in the Village was delighted to host the event and provided a champagne welcome to kick the evening off. Delicious cupcakes were enjoyed thanks to Cupcake Angels London.

The mums were also treated to gift bags containing a selection of beauty products from Green People, Pixi Beauty, Botanic Health Care and Mi Naturals. But it was not all self-indulgence! Victoria organised a raffle which raised money for London-based charity, Kids Company.
This was the first Mum’s Night Off, and it was deemed a great success both by the mums and the local businesses which took part. Ria Atlee, a local mum who attended the event said “I met new mums and it really was a great way to network and get out and relax without the kiddies!”
Given the great feedback this is going to become a regular event. Keep your eyes on Facebook for further details: facebook.com/formumsintheknow
